Steaks on the Grill
People look forward to so many things during the summer months. Getting ready for summer to us includes enjoying the outdoors and grilling out with friends. A perfectly-cooked steak is the pinnacle of achievement in the grilling world, but it’s an easy thing to mess up if you don’t know what you’re doing. Commit these rules to heart, and you won’t need to rely on your watch or even a recipe. The skill to grill will forever be in your bones.
1. Warm Them Up
The first step to grilling a perfect steak and enjoying a nice steak dinner is to remove your steak twenty minutes to thirty minutes prior to beginning to grill them. This is an excellent step to take when grilling sirloin steak or any other variety of steak because the steaks will be more tender. This will allow you to grill them more easily because they are warm and lessen the possibility that you will overcook them because they are cold.
2. Preheat the Grill
The second step to enjoying an excellent steak is to make sure to pre-heat your grill. This is a good idea regardless of whether you are using a gas grill or a charcoal grill. Pre-heating the grill is an important step in cooking them because it gives the grill time to warm up and will help you obtain an excellent sear and texture on the steak.
3. Season the Meat
The third step in grilling an excellent cut of meat is to season the steaks well prior to them going on the grill. You can find a wide variety of rubs in addition to many seasoning mixes at your local store. However, sometimes simply black pepper and salt make the best seasoning for your steak. A combination of black pepper which is freshly ground and kosher salt will yield the best results.
4. Spread the Coals
Step number four in grilling the perfect steak is only applicable if you are using a charcoal grill, but it is important nonetheless. Before you begin grilling with a charcoal grill, it is advisable to spread the charcoals apart and replace any charcoal pieces which are completely used up. Doing so will make the grill heat the steaks more evenly and this will make them cook better.
5. Let Them Sit
Another good tip in grilling the perfect steak is to let them cool on a platter or plates for a few minutes before serving them to whoever is eating them. This is a good step to take because it allows time for the juices to move around the steaks and keep them juicy.
